During the holiday season there are many ways that you can practice getting out of your own way. And as you know, a big reason why you experience stress, frustration, and unhappiness is based on your ability to deal with challenges.
It’s never about your situation, although I admit sometimes it’s hard to admit that.
What if you decided that this year was going to be your best END-of-the-year celebration? You are going to finish strong in your business so you can hold your head high! And you are going to experience extreme happiness because you said so.
Let me help with this . . .
First, decide what you can finish in your business that will make you feel like you are successful.
Second, apply one or all of these 7 Ways That Will Cheer You Up during the Holiday Season, Make It Special, and Create Lasting Memories!
#1 In the USA, Target sells premade gingerbread houses! This weekend I’m having a gingerbread and wine party with eight friends at my house. Everyone is bringing snack food, and I am supplying the wine and gingerbread homes. ***FUN & MEMORABLE
#2 Volunteer at an Orphanage and bring some candy and gifts. There’s nothing better than a little one’s smiling face to open your heart to love!
#3 Find a local soup kitchen and donate your time! When you do this, sit down with the homeless people and learn more about their lives. See if you can turn the conversation over to good memories. That will bring a feeling of gratitude to their lives and show you that things really aren’t that bad!
#4 Create a family outing. I live in San Diego, so the weather is nice here. I am going to do a family holiday picnic on the beach with wine, good food, and the sunset. I’m also doing the gingerbread party with them, too. It’s different and fun!
#5 Give yourself a GIFT! I’ve wanted to take cooking lessons forever. Now I am going to do it over the holidays. Paleo cooking classes is my gift of love to myself. What’s something that you keep putting off that you can give to yourself this year?
#6 Sign up for a Jingle Bell 5k Running Race with your friends. They are not competitive—just fun! Often people are dressed up in festive costumes, and it’s a great way to meet fun, active people. It’s also a great way to stay in shape in between all the cookies and chocolate 🙂
#7 Paint pottery! This is probably one of my favorite things to do. Look up a local pottery painting store and grab a few friends and go paint pottery. It makes for a great gift. My mom still has a plate that I did for her when I was 23 years old. Date the back of whatever you paint for a nice keepsake and memory of your commitment to enjoy this holiday season!
My point is to take a stand for your happiness. It’s the same as building a business. You are responsible for problem solving issues with difficult family members, finding your happy zone, and creating moments that make your heart sing! It’s not about your situation; it’s about your willingness.
