The Commerce of Love

Set your goal this year to make $300,000 if you aren’t there yet.

In my opinion, it’s the tipping point annual income for generosity and forward-thinking momentum that our world needs.

Meaning, I believe the journey to owning a $300k-dollar business forces you as a business owner to let go of control, be more generous, and care more about people than about making the next sale!

Look, you can turn your business around in just 10 days if you are willing to get honest.

Here’s what you need to FOCUS on to grow to multi-six figures.

You need to have a KILLER list

Think targeted, not bigger. The tipping point to $300k is about 7,000 people on your list.  However, you can do it with less. A tip to grow this list is to give your BEST solution away as your free gift. Give it either as a seven-page eBook (not more than seven pages as a free gift because you want people to finish what they start with you) or with another leveraged product. DO NOT give away your personal time to build your list. That’s a completely different strategy.

STOP saying your list is DEAD and start paying attention to what people are asking for!

There is no such thing as a DEAD list, just a list that has been abused.  Every list has opportunity, especially when you know what to look for.  Survey the list and find out what people want specifically in a topic or product.  Look to see which subject lines get better open rates and see which blog posts have the most comments.

Pay attention to your competitors on Facebook pages.  What topics do their followers jump all over?  Start talking about popular topics and focus on re-engagement before selling again!

Teach your OWN material… Sell your own products

I see people regurgitating other people’s systems and products.  It’s a shallow way of doing business and is focused on making money, not on making a difference.  Look, you will make WAY more money by teaching or selling something that you believe in—something you came up with that is aligned with your desire to help people.  Be original!

Help KEY people get what they want!

Many of my top friends achieved business success by focusing on targeting high-profile people in their industry and discovering a way to help them grow.  When you help the “RIGHT” people, they instantly feel gratitude for you.  It’s very human to want to help someone back who helps you.

This is why #3 above is important, because for this step to work you’ve got to be YOURSELF so you feel authentic and genuine.  If you are good at Facebook marketing, offer a key person in your industry FREE help to market on Facebook to get a specific result.  See what happens from there!

Stop fighting for your TIME OFF and just schedule it

If you are TOO busy, you are losing money.  Schedule time off.  I take the last week of every month off, and I LOVE it!  Choose your calendar and pencil yourself in FIRST before work.  The rest of the time, work your ass off!

Be SMART about opportunities

Money-focused people miss great opportunities all the time. Here’s why!  The best opportunities come from relationships.  Relationships take time but yield the BEST opportunity.

While working on those relationships, if you see a good opportunity that you can BUY yourself into—do it!  Stop hesitating.  Stop trying to NOT BE SOLD when you need that product or service.  Allow the help you want to come in, and be prepared to give financially to get it.

Make more offers and be consistent

How many offers have you made in the last 60 days?
Point made. That’s why you aren’t making more money. You are afraid of making offers, or you just have forgotten to focus on making good offers.

Be consistent and learn good, authentic marketing.

Those are the basics to owning a $300,000-a-year business.
